If you were to go downtown Portland, you might be familiar with the park blocks near Powell’s City of Books. Roseway has its own version, the Roseway Parkway. From Fremont Street to Prescott, there are city-block-sized parks that turn 72nd avenue into a divided thoroughfare. These parks are perfect for enjoying the summer breeze, although the traffic makes it a bit too noisy to stay for too long.
Roseway It is now very popular among young families, and there are also a lot of older empty nesters and senior citizens. It is a good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and have easy access to grocery stores and other things that you find in a suburb. It also has good transit with lots of buses going by on the main roads, and you aren’t too far from the Max lightrail.
It is basically a safe neighborhood. People take good care of their homes, there are lots of gardens and the yards are kept up. A lot of people walk and bike, just like the other inner city neighborhoods.
Roseway is a lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon wandering around, admiring the variety of architecture and the many beautifully kept gardens. If you begin in Glen Haven Park and walk the length of the Rose City Golf Course on Sacramento, you will see so many treetops that you might forget you’re in the middle of a city. Taking a right on 70th Avenue makes for a pleasant, winding route through the southern part of the neighborhood up to Sandy Boulevard.
The Roseway neighborhood has numerous high quality schools in the area as well as in the surrounding neighborhoods.
